Roaring Flames - Raffle Entry Writing

A proud arcanai stood with their head high, and their crown sigil even higher. The crown glowed in the dim light as they lazily looked around the room, piercing red eyes surrounded by golden scalara found nothing of interest.  Their ears swiveled from their normal position of facing to the side, to point forward, revealing a molten lava pattern on the inner side of the ears. One could almost follow the pattern as it came down their face and jawline disappearing into the scales adorning their throat and underbelly. The molten markings appeared once again on their front paws after their elbow joint. In addition to the molten patterns, there were large scales but this time dark red which covered the forward facing portion of the forearms and legs. The arcanai’s limbs had black ends; fingers, toes, and nose but there was then a flash of red which faded back into gray and eventually black as it became closer to the main body. Scattered along their body are small black spikes, along with other areas of black grouped scales. In contrast to the others which are seeming long random, there is also a line of these spines on the last half of the arcanai’s tail all packed in a line. These spines lead to a black spade shaped tail tip which shows the same molten patterns that are found on their ears. Slate gray wings shuffle slightly, before opening upwards for a stretch showing off the underside which was covered in the same molten patterns. With a black background fading to dark red at the scalloped bottom edge. Starting at the base of their neck and traveling upwards, there was a mane made of fur which traveled all the way to just past where horns started. This individual had two sets of red horns, two horns on each side which wrapped around their ears. The top set of horns flowed backwards and down, with a point that curves upwards.  While the bottom set curve forward lining up slightly above the jawline but visually the last downwards bend of the horn lined up with their eye and ended in a sharp point. The horns were all bright red in color and had a scaled texture lining up neatly each scale with a small point that pointed towards the next scale. Tying all of these colors together is the arcanai’s eyes, a red iris, with a darker pupil was surrounded with a yellow gold scalara. With their eyes closed and laying down with arms tucked this arcanai could easily blend into sets of dark stones or old lava flows. The only other thing which would stand out would be their glowing crown and their horns, since their horns were a bright red in contrast to the slate gray and black. In addition to their volcanic visuals, this arcanai also was knowledgeable in fire magik. The most fitting of all the available magiks for this arcanai, they exhumed warmth and could produce the flickering wonders of the fire which their molten patterns resembled.
